Former Liberal senator Hollie Hughes says one of the AFP’s groups handling counterterrorism had been disbanded prior to the Bondi Beach massacre.
“One of the AFP’s groups that was supposed to be looking over counterterrorism in fact had lost funding recently and had been disbanded,” Ms Hughes said.
“Albanese’s government has been absolutely instrumental in cutting programs prior to this massacre occurring that were supposed to be overseeing counterterrorism in all its forms.”
