Israeli attacks leave at least 20 dead in Gaza

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has rejected calls for a Commonwealth Royal Commission into the Bondi shooting, despite support from more than 139 top lawyers including a former Federal Court Chief Justice and former Solicitor General. The government will instead draft new laws for gun buybacks, restrict 3D printed firearms, and outlaw organisations like Hizb ut-Tahrir and the National Socialist Network. Separately, the Prime Minister has announced changes to politicians’ travel entitlements, including downgrading families from business to economy class following revelations about Sports Minister Anika Wells’ use of existing rules.
