Labour kingmaker Graham Richardson was farewelled at a state funeral attended by Australia’s most powerful political figures including Prime Minister Albanese and former Prime Minister Tony Abbott. Richardson was the nation’s youngest ever senator who served in the Hawke and Keating governments but also battled scandals around tax evasion, criminal connections and other controversies. The service featured 11 eulogies and drew mourners from across Australia’s political spectrum as well as prominent figures from sport and business.
