Australia holds mass vigil for Bondi Beach attack victims, PM Albanese booed
A mass vigil was held in Sydney on Sunday, December 21, to honour the victims of last week’s deadly Bondi Beach shooting, one of the most serious antisemitic attacks in Australia in recent years.
Rabbi Yehoram Ulman led the memorial near a large menorah, lighting a single candle as mourners gathered to remember the 15 people killed and dozens wounded in the attack. The victims were targeted during a seaside Jewish Hanukkah festival, an incident that has deeply shaken Australia’s Jewish community.
