Avelo Airlines says it’s ending deportation flights out of Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport as the company closes its Mesa base in the East Valley. An Avelo spokesperson said the charter program brought “short-term benefits” but didn’t generate enough consistent revenue to offset the operational complexity and costs.
