Israeli attacks leave at least 20 dead in Gaza

James Byrnes, a 65-year-old eastern suburbs socialite known as bankruptcy advisor to billionaire Alan Bond, faced Newtown court charged with assault and failing to submit a breath test. He allegedly crashed a 1968 Chevrolet Camaro into three cars and a scooter on Rickard Road in Bondi, then assaulted a 54-year-old onlooker before neighbours performed a citizen’s arrest. Byrnes pleaded not guilty to both charges and successfully had his bail conditions modified to remove the ban on entering licensed premises in Bondi.
