China’s beef tariff estimated to hit Australia in ‘August’

Beef Central Publisher Jon Condon discusses China’s 55 per cent tariff on beef imports that exceed 2.6 million tonnes.

“Tariffs and quotas inevitably cost the consumer,” Mr Condon told Sky News Australia.

“Safeguard tariffs like this aren’t unheard of around the world, but this one’s a large one.

“There will be no tariff paid at all until we hit that trigger point. We estimate that will happen sometime around August.”
