Israeli attacks leave at least 20 dead in Gaza
By Rodrigo Santos Andrade
The Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed Dec. 10 that 38-year-old Christopher Scholtes died Nov. 5 from carbon monoxide toxicity.
Scholtes had previously pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in connection with his daughter’s 2024 death in a hot car.
The medical examiner ruled Scholtes’ manner of death a suicide, which occurred the same day he was scheduled to be taken into custody to begin his prison sentence.
