FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino has shockingly announced he will be stepping down from the bureau in January 2026.
Following speculation throughout the week about his departure as the bureau’s deputy director, Bongino confirmed his exit in a post to X.
“I will be leaving my position with the FBI in January. I want to thank President Trump, AG Bondi, and Director Patel for the opportunity to serve with purpose,” Bongino wrote.
“Most importantly, I want to thank you, my fellow Americans, for the privilege to serve you. God bless America, and all those who defend Her.”
The New York Post revealed Bongino was packing up his office, with a source claiming the former Secret Service agent would only serve one year under Director Kash Patel.
