The European Union is set to scrap a landmark 2035 ban on new petrol and diesel cars, after months of pressure from the auto industry. Under the new proposal, tailpipe emissions will reportedly need to be cut by 90% by the mid-2030s, instead of the current target of a full 100% reduction. Will Denselow reports from Brussels.
