Former home affairs secretary Mike Pezzullo analyses the Labor government’s recent crackdown on hate speech in response to the Bondi Beach terror attack.

“These are good initiatives, don’t get me wrong, I welcome them,” Mr Pezzullo told Sky News Australia.

“I really do want to raise the flag about why are we driving so hard on them, as we should be, four days after a tragedy, when we’ve had a lead-up where we could have attended to these matters.”
