Former NSW senator Hollie Hughes believes the Liberal Party has “lost its way” as former prime minister John Howard urges a reboot.
“A lot of them had come from a small business background, they had owned businesses, and they had actually paid people’s wages,” Ms Hughes said.
‘They knew what it was like to pay the bills and still try and keep a business operating.
“Now I look at who is going into parliament and the party … it’s the party of thinktanks and management consultants.”
