Institute of Public Affairs Research Fellow Mia Schlicht blasts the Albanese government for “missing the point” in its response to the Bondi Beach massacre, accusing it of wrongly shifting the focus to gun reform.
“If the Albanese government wants to focus on guns, then they have just missed the point entirely in this tragedy,” Ms Schlicht told Sky News Digital Presenter Gabriella Power.
“At the end of the day, guns don’t cause people to have murderous ideology; they just don’t.
“The problem is the ideology behind these attacks, not the weapons.”
