The Navajo Nation is the largest reservation in the country and its vastness can create serious challenges for access to resources from medical to legal help.

Coconino County is hitting the road to bring those services to the tribe.

The Leupp Chapter House was converted to a courthouse Thursday for the Coconino County Justice Bus event.

Criminal Justice Coordinating Council director Dianna Kalandros said on the legal side of this event, they are focusing on helping Navajo Nation residents with outstanding warrants.

“What we’re really proud of is bringing the superior court out of Flagstaff, into the more rural areas,” she said.

Mason Carroll reports from Leupp, Arizona, about 45 miles northeast of Flagstaff.
