Dave Elsley transformed his passion for Nintendo video games into a career by creating a free advisory service for customers in Australian toy stores in 1991. After months of unemployment, he developed expertise in Nintendo games, approached stores with his service proposal, and successfully demonstrated its value when one store sold out of games during his first demonstration. Elsley later established his own hotline service to compete with Mattel’s Nintendo helpline, turning his gaming enthusiasm into full-time employment.
