In a special address from Mar-a-Lago, President Donald Trump announced the capture of Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro and his wife, Celia Flores, following an ‘extraordinary military operation’ in Caracas. Describing the mission as a ‘spectacular assault’ unparalleled since World War II, Trump confirmed that US forces executed the raid without any American casualties. The President also referenced the recent ‘Operation Midnight Hammer,’ which he stated decimated Iran’s nuclear sites, highlighting a resurgence of American military might. Trump declared that the US will oversee Venezuela’s administration until a ‘safe, proper, and judicious transition’ can be ensured. He emphasized that the operation was conducted to bring Maduro to justice for his alleged ‘campaign of deadly narco-terrorism’ against US citizens, marking a significant escalation in US foreign policy enforcement.
