A fire at an underground bar in Cron, Montana, Switzerland on New Year’s Eve has killed 40 people and injured 119 others. Authorities have confirmed the blaze started from sparklers attached to champagne bottles that ignited the ceiling, and are now pursuing potential criminal liability due to the lack of fire alarms and emergency exits. The first victim has been identified as Italian teenager Emanuele Gallipini, with victims including Swiss, French, Italian, Serbian, Polish, Portuguese and Australian nationals.
