The US government has approved a $16 billion deal to sell arms to Taiwan.
It’s the largest ever American weapons package to Taiwan.
It follows a week of diplomatic pressure from Beijing.
Taiwan has been working to transform its military and last month announced an additional $60 billion in defence spending.
