The US military has seized an oil tanker off the coast of Venezuela, claiming it was part of an illegal shipping network supporting foreign terrorists. Venezuela has accused the White House of international piracy, with the operation escalating tensions between the countries. The Pentagon assembled significant firepower in the Caribbean, including the USS Gerald Ford aircraft carrier battle group, amid questions about whether this represents the start of military action or an attempt to destabilise Maduro’s regime.
