Giovanni Quintella Bezerra is already investigated for six cases and is in prison for the rape of a pregnant woman, during a cesarean, at the Women’s Hospital in São João de Meriti.

The Deam (Women Assistance Police Station) of São João de Meriti will investigate whether at least 20 pregnant women were victims of anesthesiologist Giovanni Quintella Bezerra, in recent months, at the State Hospital of Mãe de Mesquita, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

For the head delegate of Deam, Bárbara Lomba, the anesthesiologist “is a serial criminal, who sedated the victims to commit the crimes”.
