This Thursday (18), the Civil Police arrested Cuban Alejandro Triana Trevez, 30 years old, suspected of murdering American gallerist Brent Sikkema on BR-050, in the city of Uberaba, in the State of Minas Gerais, in Brazil. Alejandro Triana Trevez denied to the police officers who approached him that he had committed the crime, however the images obtained by the police indicate that the crime was premeditated.
Agents from the Capital Homicide Police Station (DHC), with the support of the Federal Highway Police, the São Paulo Civil Police and the Minas Gerais Military Police, served the temporary arrest warrant against Cuban Alejandro Triana Trevez.
The suspect was identified after analyzing security camera images and collecting information. According to the police, intense intelligence and monitoring work was carried out.
The police reported that, after the crime, Alejandro Triana Trevez fled to São Paulo, where he was being monitored, and from there he went to Minas Gerais, where he was found with US$ 3,000 that belonged to the gallery owner.
American gallerist Brent Sikkema was found dead on Monday (15), inside his home, in Jardim Botânico, in the South Zone of Rio de Janeiro, in Brazil. The body had marks from a stab wound, according to forensics. DHC’s main line of investigation is that Brent Sikkema was the victim of a robbery, robbery followed by death.
