1 dead after Phoenix officer shoots into home with reported active shooter

One person is dead, and another is in the hospital after an officer-involved shooting Monday evening when police responded to a reported active shooter in west Phoenix. The family is disputing the official story from police.
Officers were called to what was initially described as a large fight at a home near Lower Buckeye Road and 75th Avenue.
Phoenix Police spokesperson Jen Zak said when police got to the home, they were told that someone was shooting people inside the home. One officer ran up to the home and shot through the open door, Zak said.
Arizona’s Family spoke with a man who said his stepdad was the man police shot. He claimed his stepdad was the one calling the police for help.
