‘A Royal Commission is essential to promote unity’: Anthony Albanese’s big announcement

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese claims it is “clear” that a Royal Commission into antisemitism is “essential.
“Our government’s priority is to promote unity and social cohesion, and this is what Australia needs,” Mr Albanese said.
“Today I announce that I will be recommending to the Governor General in an executive council meeting that will be held tomorrow that a royal commission on antisemitism and social cohesion be established.
“I’ve asked that former High Court Justice, the honourable Virginia Bell AC, to serve as commissioner.”
