The Trump administration has defended the killing of US citizen Alex Pretti by Border Patrol officers.
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem says the protester was committing an “act of domestic terrorism”.
“I don’t know of any peaceful protester that shows up with a gun and ammunition rather than a sign – this is a violent riot when you have someone showing up with weapons and are using them to assault law enforcement officers,” she said.
US Border Patrol Commander Greg Bovino says the federal agents were the victims.
