Actor Patrick Muldoon, Known for ‘Starship Troopers’ and ‘Days of Our Lives,’ Dies at 57

The entertainment industry is mourning the loss of Patrick Muldoon, a versatile actor who became a household name in the 1990s. Muldoon passed away at the age of 57.

Muldoon first captured hearts as the original Austin Reed on the long-running soap opera Days of Our Lives, a role he played from 1992 to 1995 (and later reprised in 2011). His career quickly transitioned to prime-time television when he joined the cast of the hit series Melrose Place as the villainous Richard Hart.

On the big screen, Muldoon is most fondly remembered for his role as Zander Barcalow in Paul Verhoeven’s 1997 sci-fi cult classic, Starship Troopers. Beyond acting, Muldoon was also a talented musician, serving as the lead singer and guitarist for the rock band The Sleeping Masses. Known for his athletic build and “all-American” looks, he remained an active figure in both independent films and television throughout his career.
