Lawyers for the man accused of assassinating Charlie Kirk are seeking to have prosecutors disqualified from the case, alleging a conflict of interest.
Tyler Robinson is charged with aggravated murder over a September shooting at Utah Valley University and has yet to enter a plea.
The defence claims an 18-year-old witness gave evidence through their father, who works within the Utah County Attorney’s Office, raising concerns about a conflict of interest.
They also argue the prosecution moved too quickly to pursue the death penalty, saying the decision was driven by emotion and justifies disqualifying the entire legal team.
