Armed police to patrol Australian Open

Specialist police armed with semi-automatic rifles will patrol Melbourne Park during the Australian Open as an added security measure.
Victoria Police say the department follows a successful trial at the Boxing Day Ashes test.
The weapons will be carried by critical incident response team officers patrolling outside the venue.
