The cost of hosting a barbecue in Australia has increased by almost 25 per cent over the last four years, affecting Australia Day long weekend celebrations. Prices for meat, soft drinks, bread and gas bottle exchanges have all risen significantly. The Reserve Bank acknowledges that despite potential cooling of inflation, prices will remain elevated.
