On this Special Report, the focus is on the Mahayuti alliance’s significant victory in the Maharashtra Municipal Corporation elections. Union Home Minister Amit Shah lauded the success, stating, ‘The tremendous success of the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance in the Maharashtra Municipal Corporation elections makes one thing very clear.’ He emphasized that the mandate reflects the people’s trust in the NDA’s development policies under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The bulletin highlights celebrations at the BJP offices in Mumbai and Pune, noting that the results serve as a ‘seal of approval’ for the Mahayuti government. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis described the win as a ‘huge responsibility’ to advance the development agenda in Mumbai. Reporters on the ground discussed the failure of ‘divisive politics’ and the electorate’s preference for civic issues like infrastructure, water, and electricity over identity-based campaigning. The mandate is seen as a breach of traditional bastions and a clear message from Mumbaikars regarding their priorities for urban governance.
