Budget 2026: Higher tobacco tax, reduced PARF rebate

In his Budget 2026 statement, Prime Minister Lawrence Wong announced a 20% increase in tobacco excise duty from Feb 12. There will also be a reduction in PARF (Preferential Additional Registration Fee) rebate by 45 percentage points and a lowered cap from $60,000 to $30,000 that will apply to all cars registered from the next COE bidding exercise.
