Although the US Liberation Day tariffs did not trigger a sharp global slowdown and the international system continued to function, we may not be so fortunate this year, warned Prime Minister and Finance Minister Lawrence Wong.
Delivering the Budget 2026 in parliament on Thursday (Feb 12), Mr Wong said events in just the first month of 2026 have increased geopolitical tensions worldwide and the global system will be tested far more severely.
