Nepal’s Prime Minister Balendra Shah United Nations speech to the General Assembly called for cooperation and aid after the Himalayan nation suffered widespread flooding following a glacier collapse in August.
Shah urged closer cooperation between Nepal, India and China on climate resilience in the wake of the tragedy. The death toll from the flooding event is over 1,400, but thousands still remain unaccounted for, according to USA TODAY partner Reuters.
