Nearly 10,000 people are involved in this year’s Chingay Parade, with more than 5,000 residents and 3,000 performers working behind the scenes. Artists and volunteers have spent months crafting floats and costumes that symbolise shared hopes and aspirations. From engineering know-how to intricate costume design, each contribution plays a part in the spectacle. Chingay will take place on Feb 27 and 28, celebrating creativity, community and Singapore’s diverse heritage. Alxis Thng reports.
