Cole, The Deaf Dog, and his owner, Christopher (Chris) Hannah, are inspiring people all around the world.

Cole is now a certified therapy dog who Chris rescued from a New Jersey shelter back in 2017. Chris is an elementary school music teacher who was inspired to adopt the special needs dog because his nephew is deaf.

In a viral video in 2025 celebrating Cole’s 9th birthday, the world got to see how special the dog is. Everyday, Cole and Mr. Hannah teach students that a disability is not an inability, but a superpower. In this episode, both Chris and Cole join Ellen from their school.

Chris talks about how Cole has had a positive impact on his students, the reaction to the viral video and why Chris has now adopted more deaf animals.
