Construction is underway on crucial upgrades to Queensland’s Bruce Highway.
It’s part of a landmark nine billion dollar investment into the road which links Brisbane and Cairns.
Five of the deadliest stretches of the highway, which claimed 15 lives last year, are due for work this year, which includes new rest areas, road strengthening and installing wide centre lines.
The state government has pledged that the works will be finished in time for the 2032 Olympic Games.
