On this news bulletin, the focus is on the escalating ‘cash for votes’ allegations ahead of the elections in Mumbai. Shaina NC, spokesperson for the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, strongly denied claims of money distribution, stating, ‘Rajdeep, Rajdeep, we don’t need to distribute money because our leader Eknath Ji Shinde has worked so tirelessly on ground.’ She argued that the ‘M factor’ in the elections represents the ‘Marathi Manus’ and developmental milestones like the ‘Abhijat Darja’ status for the Marathi language. The debate featured sharp exchanges with Clyde Crasto and Advocate Jayesh Vani regarding the role of the Election Commission and the police in monitoring electoral malpractice. Panelists also highlighted civic grievances, including water shortages, potholes, and the influence of the real estate lobby. Shaina NC maintained that the government’s focus remains on green initiatives and infrastructure, such as the 17,000 crore package for electric buses and metro connectivity, rather than relying on freebies or cash to secure votes.
