Deepfakes are being used as a ‘political tool’ to ‘take down’ adversaries

History Uncensored host and Managing Editor Bianca Nobilo explains the history and theory of deepfake images.
“When you go back to the earliest days of photography … manipulation is there almost from the start,” Mr Nobilo told Sky News Australia.
“In order to identify why deepfakes and nude deepfakes become this political tool.
“Women’s bodies in particular become a source of potential embarrassment or exposure.
“It becomes a very simple way to try and take them down.
“The body has functioned as a proxy for legitimacy.”
