France is ready to take on its "fair share of the burden" and support a U.S.-Iran deal, said Emmanuel Macron, the nation’s president, at the start of a meeting with Trump.
Trump tapped his hands as he sat beside the French leader, with whom he’s typically had a strong rapport, as he made the remarks.
Trump has criticized U.S. allies for refusing to help the United States with its bombing campaign in Iran, and the G7 summit will be a first test of the relationship in the conflict’s aftermath.
