Eric Dane Skips Award Event “Due to the Physical Realities” of ALS

Eric Dane was honored as Advocate of the Year by the ALS Network, but was unable to attend the organization’s Champions for Cures and Care Gala on Jan. 24 “due to the physical realities” of his ongoing battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). In a statement shared ahead of the event, the ALS Network told The Hollywood Reporter, “We remain deeply grateful for his courage, advocacy, and continued commitment to the ALS community, and we honor him fully this evening with our profound respect and support. Aaron Lazar, Broadway star and Grammy Award nominee, will accept the award on his behalf.” Eric first revealed his ALS diagnosis in April.
