Ireland and China are deepening dialogue at a pivotal moment for global cooperation. What does constructive engagement look like amid growing geopolitical uncertainty? How can open trade and cultural exchange strengthen long-term partnerships? In this edition of Leaders Talk, CMG’s Zou Yun sits down for an exclusive interview with Micheál Martin, Taoiseach of the Republic of Ireland. They explore the significance of Ireland’s first prime ministerial visit to China in 14 years and examine the evolving China–Ireland partnership. The conversation looks into economic and trade cooperation, cultural and people-to-people exchanges, and the legacy of the Shannon Free Zone as a source of mutual learning. They also discuss Ireland’s perspective on EU–China relations, multilateralism, and open and fair trade, as well as China’s role in global governance.
