‘Extremely serious’: NYC building at risk of collapse amid renovation

An under-construction Midtown Manhattan building that was evacuated after structural columns buckled remains unstable, New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani said. He described the situation as “extremely serious” and said crews have witnessed additional movement since arriving at the scene.
