The federal government has announced a new return-to-office (RTO) mandate requiring most public servants to be on-site at least four days a week starting July 6. CTV’s Kimberley Fowler reports that executives will face a five-day requirement beginning May 4. The Treasury Board cites the need for stronger collaboration, but unions like the Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada (PIPSC) warn the move is causing anxiety amid ongoing job cuts and office space shortages.
