Flood warnings issued as RECORD rain across Britain puts hundreds of areas on high alert

Over 100 flood warnings have been put in place after Britain and Ireland were lashed with heavy rain.
An “exceptional” amount of rain led to last month being the second wettest January on record in Northern Ireland and the sixth wettest in southern England, figures show.
Southern England saw 74% more rainfall than is typical for the month, with 136.8mm.
