Former Home Affairs secretary Mike Pezzullo discusses the challenges and complexities of implementing the proposed hate speech and gun reform legislation.
“By definition, there’s a degree of imprecision that will now have to be turned into guidance so that officers make the right decisions,” Mr Pezzullo told Sky News Australia.
“You’re going to have to be doing a lot of social media scraping.
“There’s a whole new area of practice that if it’s not properly resourced … it just simply won’t do what’s on the tin.”
