The Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service has released footage of police interviews with former support worker Dorothy Kane, 68, and former nun Eileen McElhinney, 78, both of whom worked at Sisters of Nazareth children’s homes and have been convicted of abuse.
Both women, as well as nun Carol Buirds, 75, were found guilty of subjecting multiple victims to cruel and unnatural treatment over nine years, following a trial at Edinburgh Sheriff Court in November 2025.
Buirds was sentenced to 15 months in prison, while McElhinney was given a probation order and 240 hours of unpaid work, and Kane was given 150 hours of community service.
