What started as a 16-day concert series leading up to the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4 has morphed into a single, Trump-centered gathering on Wednesday, June 24, adding to the political overtones around the milestone national birthday celebrations.
Trump announced the rally after musicians began dropping out of the original Freedom 250 concerts, with some citing concerns about the perceived politics involved. He is promising a more entertaining celebration free of "singers with no talent" who "put you to sleep." Instead, the president said there will be "Fantastic Music!!! MAGA!!! FUN!!!" – along with a speech from Trump himself.
