Gaurav Sawant Reports On UK Grooming Gangs And The ‘Kaur To Khan’ Project Targeting Sikh Girls
visibility comment0 event January 14, 2026 timer 12:48
On this news bulletin, host Gaurav Sawant examines the alarming rise of grooming gangs in the United Kingdom, specifically focusing on the targeting of young Sikh girls. Gaurav Sawant notes that the situation is ‘very disturbing picking up girls as young as 11 12 and 13 and giving them drugs and then raping them repeatedly’. The discussion highlights the ‘Kaur to Khan’ project, a modus operandi where perpetrators allegedly from Pakistani or Afghan backgrounds groom victims under false identities. Legal correspondent Anisha Mathur cites official UK reports, including the Baroness Casey report and data from the Rotherham incident, which indicate a disproportionate number of perpetrators from specific ethnic backgrounds. The programme explores the challenges faced by authorities who were previously accused of ignoring cases to avoid allegations of ethnic profiling. Harmeet Shah Singh reports from London on the Sikh community’s recent protests and the lack of vocal support from certain sections in India regarding these specific cross-border crimes.
