‘Get the truth out’: Family of man fatally shot in Minneapolis speaks out about ‘sickening lies’

The family of a man shot dead by federal immigration agents in Minneapolis has accused the officers of telling “sickening lies” about their son.
Alex Pretti, a 37-year-old intensive care nurse and US citizen, died after at least 10 shots were fired at him.
Mr Pretti had no criminal record and a license to carry a firearm – open carry is legal in Minnesota.
Michael and Susan Pretti spoke out in a statement, blasting “ICE thugs” for their “reprehensible and disgusting” lies about their son in the wake of the fatal shooting.
“The sickening lies told about our son by the administration are reprehensible and disgusting,” the parents said.
“Alex is clearly not holding a gun when attacked by Trump’s murdering and cowardly ICE thugs. He has his phone in his right hand, and his empty left hand is raised above his head while trying to protect the woman ICE just pushed down all while being pepper-sprayed.
“Please get the truth out about our son. He was a good man.”
