‘Give them money’: Trump plans to fund newborn Americans

US President Donald Trump announces a new program where the US government will automatically create and fund a tax-free investment account for every newborn American child.
“For the first ever, we’re going to give every newborn American child a financial stake in the future, a headstart at life and a fair shot at the American dream,” Mr Trump said.
“We’re going to put three to four trillion dollars of wealth into the hands of young Americans who would have really started out with nothing.
“We give them money, more money than anyone could have ever imagined.
“They’ll have a real start in life.
“We’ll fund those personal accounts with a seed contribution of $1000.”
