Glendale Police are using ShotSpotter technology and a dedicated task force to distinguish between holiday fireworks and illegal gunfire this New Year’s Eve.
The specialized technology allows officers to receive real-time alerts to improve response times and evidence gathering for potential shootings.
As the department prepares for a high volume of calls, officials are reminding residents that discharging a firearm within city limits is a felony under Arizona’s Shannon’s Law.
